Brand Ambassador Luke Keough Takes It to the Max with “Sully the Defender”

Bullet Liner Builder Ambassador Luke Keough knows what custom building is all about. He’s been working for the past year to master his “beauty build”—a prized 1984 Land Rover he and his wife Kaitlin have rebuilt from the ground floor up. His 2022-2023 project features premium Bullet Liner elastomer coating technology, applied to the vehicle from “head to toe.”

Bullet Liner was originally founded by the team that started the entire spray-on bed liner industry more than three decades ago.  Today, the company infuses the latest innovation and extensive R&D to create the market’s most durable polyurea protectant available. Our Bullet Liner protective bed liner and spray on elastomer coating won’t flake, bubble or crack—no matter what extremes its exposed to—for the life of your vehicle. And Luke Keough is proud to be putting the technology to the test with his Land Rover redesign, dubbed “Sully the Defender.”

Luke and Kaitlin first teamed up with the Bullet Liner brand last summer—when we tapped into their passion for renovating classic vehicles and named them as one of the Bullet Liner’s first official Builder Ambassadors. The program promotes the current best and up-and-coming off-road vehicle build artists on the market—and showcases the creative ways that builders and overlanders can apply Bullet Liner technology (that’s impervious to extreme weathering and the road conditions that would typically damage an unprotected vehicle) to protect their prized trucks, cars, ATVs, UTVs, vans and SUVs.

As part of the program and Luke’s passion for custom automotive redesigns, he and his wife set out to breathe new life into what was then their vintage Land Rover. The pair took their prized vehicle down to its bare bones—spraying nearly every single exposed surface from the underbelly to the roof. The Keoughs’ featured custom build showcases how Bullet Liner’s high-caliber elastomer spray-on coating can rejuvenate any recreational or utility vehicle to look brand new.

Spray coated head to toe in Bullet Liner “Marine Blue”—from front to rear fender, with bumpers, wheel wells and more featuring Bullet Liner’s high tensile strength coating—“The Defender” is a can’t-miss-it restyled masterpiece that will be showcased at three upcoming Overland Expo events this coming summer and fall.  “Sully the Defender” will represent the Bullet Liner Brand Ambassador program and put a spotlight on Bullet Liner’s resilient durable and superior protective coating and overall hot looks at the Expo’s locations in Redmond, OR on July 7th-9th; in Loveland, Colorado on August 25th-27th; and in Arlington, VA on October 6th-8th!

Don’t miss the opportunity to check out this impressive Land Rover rebuild and speak with Luke and Kaitlin about their experiences—and discover how you too can apply to become a Bullet Liner Brand Ambassador if you have a spectacular custom build in progress that you’d like to showcase.
